IRONMAN Muskoka: Background Information
After years of planning, IRONMAN Muskoka is finally here. This full complements our already well known and well respected IRONMAN 70.3 Muskoka event.
TriMuskoka is absolutely ecstatic about IRONMAN Muskoka coming to our community as triathlon has been an integral part of the Huntsville and Lake of Bays community for over 25 years. Having a full IRONMAN distance event truly reinforces the fact that Muskoka is not only Ontario’ vacation playground, but is a mecca for endurance sports and most notably our triathlon events of every distance.
Athletes coming to our community will find themselves amidst the natural beauty of the landscape that is carved out of the granite and forests that make up the Canadian Shield. Acclaimed by many amateur and professional triathletes alike, the IRONMAN Muskoka and 70.3 Muskoka courses provide a balance of a physical challenge that is a true test of an athletes ability. This same physical geography – the lakes and rivers, the towering forests, the granite outcroppings, the hills and valleys – combine to produce a very beautiful physical environment that can distract athletes from the gruelling task at hand during an IRONMAN event.
As triathlon has been a part of our community for so long, our community residents welcome athletes with open arms. Our volunteers have been acclaimed to be some of the most enthusiastic and energetic that triathletes have ever experienced.
The IRONMAN Muskoka was recently redesigned to offer spectators the opportunity to follow their athletes throughout their journey on all parts of the IRONMAN Muskoka experience, so that the efforts and the accomplishment of the athlete can be celebrated as a team and as a family throughout their Muskoka experience.
However, nothing will leave you with a sense of accomplishment when you hear “You are an Ironman” after conquering our course, aptly named “The Beast”.
So, lets get into some of the details for you.
Where Can You Register?
We are your host: Navigating the TriMuskoka Website to your advantage
TriMuskoka and our local community is committed to making this the best race experience that athletes, visitors, volunteers, and spectators can have. Our website also features businesses in our community that support you, your family, and the sport within Muskoka. When you book accommodations, eat at restaurants, go shopping, or figure out what sightseeing activities to do in your downtime, please refer to our site and let the businesses know that you learned about them from the TriMuskoka site. Many of them will have packages or deals for you.
The TriMuskoka 70.3 Muskoka page is designed so that everyone can learn about the practical, yet in depth, details about the different legs of the race and how to efficiently navigate around the course, but also a ton of information for spectators.
So, read on through, and refer back as information will be updated as the season moves along. If you have questions about the race, the event, we would love to hear from you, and we will be more than happy to answer them to the best of our ability. And, as questions get asked, this site will be updated to reflect what visiting athletes, volunteers and spectators are asking as they obviously need to know.
We know that there will always be questions. So send us and email through our contact page, and we will be more than happy to get back to you. As we get more questions, we will update this page so that hopefully answers to your questions will be embedded in this page. A “Wiki-IRONMAN Muskoka” page of sorts.
