70.3 Deerhurst Swim Course

This is the course for the 70.3.  You won’t be able to get out of the water at the exit as it is a golf course there.  So swim the course and cool down swim back to the beach where you started.  Since it goes into the middle of the lake where there is quite a bit of traffic, have a paddler go with you and do it early in the morning.

Monday Night Open Water Swim

This is from a private house, so it is a swim at 8pm on Monday night and not a “anytime” place to swim.  We have kayakers and it is a continuous swim.  Usually have a 1k group and a 2k group going out.  Visualization at 745 on the dock, and leave at 8pm sharp.  This is the route we usually do, but there might be variations on the theme for different scenery.

Wednesday Morning Open Water Swim

This is from a public beach area called Camp Kitchen which is located behind the Canada Summit Centre.  Meet and leave from there at 615am on Wednesdays. Safe spot to open water swim, just hug the shore. If you go to the right (when facing the water from land) you will head into the river which is the course for the triathlon in early summer. Just stay to the left to avoid traffic, and always swim with buddies, a kayaker, or have a marker that you pull to keep you safe and visible.
