The Short Course Triathlon

TriMuskokan Swim

The Swim - 850 meters

Grab your swim cap and your goggles and head down to the swim start either on foot, or by train (you have to take it for the full experience!). It will take you about 10 minutes by foot to get to the start if you choose to go that way.

Once you get to the swim start, you can take your footwear off (if you have any) and put it in your swim start bag that has your number on it and chuck it into the back of the race vehicle.

Wait for the race announcer to call your wave into the water, and then head into the water by way of the stone steps at Camp Kitchen. After a quick warm up, you can line up behind the start buoys anywhere across the whole width of the river.

When the horn goes off, it is a 850m swim out into Fairy lake and then you navigate around three buoys as you head back down the river to the swim exit. One last turn around the final buoy you have to navigate around is make sure you go to the right of the last buoy before the exit. Climb the stairs, and then walk/jog/run to the transition zone.

The Bike - 30 kilometers

Catch your breath, and get yourself organized! Put your bike gear on, and then once you have your helmet clipped up, you can take your bike off the rack and make your way over to the “Mount/Dismount Line”.

Cross this line and then put the fun between your legs and follow the "gently rolling" out and back bike course out for 15km
where a friendly police officer and volunteer will instruct you to go around the pylon and head on back. This is for a total distance of 30km.

Make sure you stop and get off your bike before the “Mount Line” and then take your bike back to your spot in the transition zone. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

The Run - 7.5 kilometers (-ish)

trimuskokan run
Take your helmet off and put on your running shoes so you are ready to head out on the beautiful, and only a little bit challenging, run course. The run is a double loop 7.5km run that goes through rolling paved roads, up a beautiful forested trail, through magestic rock cuts, around our outdoor track, and then down a hill to do it all over again.

On the second time around, head left instead of right to head to the finish line.

At the finish line, your family, friends, and fellow participants await you to relish in your accomplishments, savour some chef prepared food, and share some smiles and memories.

You did it!
